The Dorsa Elementary School Murals was a collaboration between Dorsa Elementary School, GV2GT, and Apple. GV2GT hosted a community work day for a team of 300+ Apple employees, to create a series of 4 mural designs, and manage a mural event in which the employees from apple could paint the designs, and donate the murals to Dorsa Elementary school.

The Felker Street Community Mural Project was a mural event organized by Velasquez in order to bring awareness to the San Lorenzo Rivers diverse Ecosystem. Velasquez worked with the Coastal Watershed Commission to develop a series of design proposals based on the Felker Street neighborhood committee’s requests. The result was a day long community based mural event, in which the public assisted with the painting of their neighborhood.

During the fall session at San Francisco State University, Velasquez designed and taught an upper division collage course. The course was based on muralism and the public arts. Because this course had never before existed at SFSU, Daniel created a complete curriculum for the course and established the class as a Staple for the SFSU Art Department.

Rumble in the rainforest was an event in which Velasquez collaborated with local SF Bay Area Non-profits, businesses, and artists to create a fundraising event for the Rainforest Action Network. During this event at Burton’s San Francisco Flagship Store, the supporters were able to purchase “Fun-Money” that could be used to participate in a series of activities. the money raised was donated to the Rainforest Action Network to help with the fires in Brazilian Rainforest.

The Oakland Community event was a community engagement event designed to bring people together in a socially distanced manner in order to create a sense of community during the 2021 Pandemic. A group of 10-15 Neighbors partook in painting a mural on a community members house. due to the length of the wall, participants were able to maintain ample space while collectively engaged in a creative endevour.

The Man-Made Mythos solo show was hosted by First Amendment Gallery in San Francisco California. The event showed a series of works by Velasquez that focused on the contemporary myths and symbolisms.
